Ties in Pure Delight Fabric for Riley Blake Designs

I have shared in the past my love of making neckties for my husband and sons. I have made them probably 13 ties each at this point in time…. 🙂 My husband works a job where he likes to wear a tie every day and my boys always want to look like dad, so they get a matching tie as well.

When I saw Pure Delight fabric by Melanie Colette, I immediately saw several prints that I thought would make fabulous neckties. I let my husband pick from the prints in the collection and these ties were born from that.

I paired the light blue print with a dusty blue Blossom fabric and the dark blue grid with a gray Swiss dot. Each looks like a classic tie with a fun pop on the lining that nobody but the wearer will ever see. My tie pattern of choice is by Dana Willard of MADE Everyday. It’s easy to follow and she includes a video as well for those of us who like to see things done first.

The Pure Delight fabric collection is hitting shops this month and there are florals, text prints, the grid print in different colors, etc etc etc. It works really well for quilting as well as apparel. Melanie has done a fabulous job making a versatile collection. Look for it in your favorite local quilt shop or your favorite online quilt shop.
