Scaredy Cat Bats Quilt

Is it too early to be making Halloween quilts? I don’t think so! This year has been incredibly strange, to say the least, and it has helped me a lot to feel a sense of normalcy as I’ve been making quilts for upcoming holidays. Halloween is one holiday that seems to be overlooked as far as quilts are concerned. I have several Halloween quilts and plans to make several more. It’s a fun way to decorate for halloween without having to cover your house in fake cobwebs, unless that’s your thing and you like it! 🙂

I made a Bats quilt (by Cluck Cluck Sew) out of this super fun fabric line, Scaredy Cat, that is coming out into the world soon from Riley Blake Designs!

Amanda designed some really fun prints and also some great blender prints for this line. I focused a bit more on the “blender” prints and threw in a few fun ones to give it the child-like appeal I was looking for. I backed it in Blossom in Pumpkin, also by Riley Blake, and bound it in the amazing grid print from Scaredy Cat. Guys.

My kids LOVE this quilt. It is easily one of their favorites that I’ve made. Maybe it’s because there are bones on it. Maybe it’s because there are bats on it. Maybe it’s because it’s reminding them that Covid isolation will end someday and we’ll get to trick or treat and have fun.
