Moda Bake Shop is hosting such a fun holiday quiltalong right now. They post a new block every single day that will turn into a fun Christmas sampler quilt. The instructions for each block are given in 6″ and 12″ sizes, so it is a great resource for blocks for swaps or other things! I designed this present block for the quiltalong. Fat Quarter Shop Quiltalong: Jolly Bar Meringue

Have you ever made a quilt with half rectangle triangles? I hadn’t until I made this Jolly Bar Meringue quilt. Guys…. they are SO fun! I loooooved making them way more than half square triangles. Fat Quarter Shop recommended a Creative Grids ruler for half rectangle triangles and it was so helpful! This quilt uses 1 jolly bar and a bit of background yardage. I thought it would be fun to make my prints be low volumes from Zen Chic and my background be zen chic gray. I love the soft look of this quilt. It would be such a beautiful baby quilt.
