Star in a Star is one of my favorites. If I’m going to be honest, putting anything in a star is my favorite because I LOVE star blocks. You can use a 5″ charm square for all of the cutting for the prints of the small 3.5″ star if you are careful.

Inner star: 3.5″ unfinished
(4) 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” background
(4) 1 1/4” x 2” background
(1) 2” x 2” print
(8) 1 1/4” print

Make 4 sets of flying geese using the 1 1/4″ x 2″ background rectangles and the 1 1/4″ prints. Sew the pieces into 3 rows, then press and trim.

Outer star: 6.5″ unfinished
3.5″ star for center
(4) 2 X 2″ background
(4) 2 X 3 ½” background
(8) 2″ print

Follow the same instructions as above for the corresponding pieces.
