Today The Fat Quarter Shop is releasing a new, FREE, easy and fast quilt tutorial called Jolly Bar Bon Bons. It uses 1 jolly bar (or half of a layer cake) and a bit of yardage to make a fun and easy quilt. I used Garden Variety by Lella Boutique as well as trusty Bella 97 for background. I had a bit of fun practicing some free motion quilting and I love how it turned out.
I don’t particularly care for square quilts so I added an extra row to make it rectangular and an easier size to gift. This one went to my mom and I can now say that every single family member (my sisters, my husbands sisters, my husband, my dad, my mom, my boys) all have a handmade quilt by me! It was so fun to gift to my mom. She is a quilter so I hoped she’d appreciate the extra detail and time it took to do the free motion quilting.
If you are hoping to make one of your own, you can find the free tutorial on The Fat Quarter Shop blog, the Jolly Jabber.
I want to make this for a full size bed, can you tell me what the revised cutting measurements would be? I am mathematically challenged!
Thank you
I’m not sure what they would be, so sorry!
